APIDays Finland was a great event in June 2019 hosted by the APIOps Community and APIDays Global.

APIDays video series continues today today with selected API Economy and public sector talks!

One of the questions Alan Clickenhouse, business strategist at IBM, ask for his customers is "Why are you doing APIs?" and most of the time customers don't have an answer to the question "why". The session goes through the API Economy Journey Map and how to get most of the APIs.

Public sector point of you was offered by Petteri Kivimäki, Chief Technology Officer at NIIS. If you haven't heard before the X-road, he introduces it, the data exchange layer solution, and how it differs from other solutions. He also talks about the NIIS, Nordic Institute for Interoperability Solutions.

Another interesting public sector session was case Health Village by Aki Puustjärvi, Development Manager in HUS IT Management. Five Finnish universities are part of it and it includes three different service layers: public information, services for professionals, and eHealth services for citizens. The session goes through the platform, technical architecture,  components, API development, challenges, and ecosystem.
